Amanyabyoona Daphine is a 17-year-old young woman with a physical disability affecting her lower limbs. She cannot stand or walk independently, so a safe and reliable wheelchair is essential for daily movement. Daphine lives in a household where both parents and all four of her siblings also have physical disabilities. The family’s mobility needs combine with severe economic hardship, making education, transport, assistive devices, and other basic support difficult to secure. For Daphine, a suitable wheelchair would support more than movement. It would make it easier to take part in learning, family life, and community activities while reducing the physical strain of moving without appropriate equipment. AWL is seeking disability-inclusive education support, accessible services, and dependable mobility equipment that can help Daphine pursue greater independence as she enters adulthood.
